KAREN GALLAGHER
Gallagher Consulting and Training was formed in 2018 by Karen Gallagher. Karen is passionate about environmental issues and sustainability.
Karen is a Chartered Environmentalist, Chartered Resource and Waste Manager and a full member of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management.


Karen has over 25 years of experience in improving the environmental performance of organisations through the development and delivery of sustainability strategies and change management.
Karen has been responsible for corporate environmental governance and risk management. She has led the implementation of environmental management systems and maintenance of certification to ISO 14001:2015.

Karen has extensive knowledge of environmental certification standards. She was Certification Director for an international certification body where she was responsible for the environmental and sustainability services. She conducted third-party audits for Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001:2015) and Sustainable Event Management Systems (ISO 20121:2012) for many clients in the UK, US, Europe and Japan.






Environmental Standards and Leadership
Karen served on the IEMA professional standards committee (2013 to 2015) and the South West regional steering group (2010 to 2016) as well as being Chair for the IEMA regional steering group (2013 to 2016).
Karen was also a trustee and vice chair of Devon Environmental Business Initiative (DEBI) from 2016 to 2018.

KAREN BELIEVES THAT BUSINESSES OF ALL SIZES HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO BE CONSCIOUS OF THEIR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT AND THE ETHICS OF THEIR OPERATIONS.
IN THE DELIVERY OF SERVICES, KAREN WILL:

Use energy-efficient lighting and equipment and turn them off when not in use
